"We got our start as a team during the Master's Week featuring the world's renound national golf tournament hosted in Augusta, Georiga. For years, our team came togehter to deliver events that just got better every year... and through lots of dreaming and late-night talks, we realized we were at the cusp of something edgy and beautiful. It was then that we jumped to create a catering and event company that would shake up the game. With this, our core team is proud to contract the best in the industry from around the world for catering & hospitality services. Let's start planning the event of the year for your clients."

EXECUTIVE CHEF

Meet Thabang Nkgadima, affectionately known as Tee, a seasoned expert in the food management industry hailing from Johannesburg, South Africa. From an early age, Tee was immersed in the bustling kitchen scenes of his large family, where he often assisted his mother and grandmother, sparking his lifelong passion for food and cooking.

After completing his studies in food and beverage management, Tee began his career in local establishments, quickly ascending to a management role in Dubai, UAE. Tee's approach to cuisine is both inventive and global, always infusing his dishes with unique flavors and personal twists that create diverse and exciting dining experiences. His vast expertise spans restaurants, country clubs, and stints as a private chef, both in-house and on yachts.

Now based in the United States for over six years, Tee’s culinary journey continues to be marked by an array of cuisines and clientele, further enriching his extensive industry knowledge. His passion for food is matched only by his commitment to continual learning and sharing his culinary discoveries with others. His extensive travels have not only broadened his horizons but also refined his attention to detail and finesse in every culinary creation.

My journey from Johannesburg to Dubai and beyond has allowed me to blend diverse culinary traditions with precision and creativity, infusing each dish with a unique flair that transcends borders. But it’s not just my food that makes the experience—it’s the warmth and genuine kindness I bring to every interaction. My easygoing nature helps everyone relax and enjoy the moment, making each dining experience not just refined, but truly joyful and memorable. Constantly inspired by my travels, I strive to bring a piece of the world to your table, crafting meals that are as culturally rich as they are delicious.

MEET KATIE

Katie Harris Augusta Georgia

OWNER + DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

      |   Augusta, Georgia 

Katie Harris is an Augusta, Georgia native, and is the Director of Operations at Praxis 118. Her background as an event architect and her Master of Fine Arts from the Savannah College of Art and Design converge to enhance her keen eye for modern design and exceptional creative problem-solving abilities in all aspects of catering & events. With over eight years of experience coordinating both large-scale and intimate bespoke events, Katie specializes in upscale, elevated experiences that leave a lasting impression. When not orchestrating events, Katie traverses the globe as a renowned food photographer, working with Michelin Star restaurants, which allows her to gather innovative ideas for culinary presentations. This pursuit not only fuels her creativity but also enhances her understanding of global cuisine trends. Additionally, Katie holds a Level 2 WSET award in Wine and is actively pursuing Level 3, with extra training and emphasis on French and Italian Wines, though her appreciation extends to all varietals. Her multifaceted expertise and international perspective make her an invaluable asset to the Praxis 118 team, and trust me, once you meet her, you know your event will be perfect.

I am honestly obsessive over every part of the event design world, and with my design knowledge fused with my love for hospitality and experience, I feel like every detail is hit to its highest level. I also refuse to lose, so add in my competitive nature to always level up my last event; my clients always know their experience will be beyond incredible.

CHEF HOLMES

EXECUTIVE CHEF 
      |   Charleston, South Carolina 

Holmes Marvel, one of the executive chefs at Praxis 118, infuses every dish with his distinctive blend of Puerto Rican-Italian heritage and Southern soul. A native of Charleston, SC, Holmes grew up immersed in a world of rich flavors and culinary traditions, which sparked his passion for cooking. Although he initially pursued business and played lacrosse in college, the joy and comfort of his grandmother's kitchen called him back to his true calling. Chef Holmes is celebrated for his innovative approach to Southern cuisine, skillfully blending his cultural roots with a modern flair that makes his food both authentic and accessible. His culinary journey has been shaped by seasons spent from Nantucket to Vail, where he absorbed diverse global influences, under the mentorship of renowned chefs like Frank McMahon and Sean Brock. This diverse experience allows him to bring an edgy yet approachable touch to every meal, making his creations not just delicious but memorable.

Beyond the kitchen, Holmes is an adrenaline seeker who finds balance in sports, the exhilaration of saltwater, and the charm of ski towns. His approach to cuisine is straightforward: it must be good—edgy yet approachable and, above all, cravable. Holmes' dynamic style and passion for culinary excellence make him a cornerstone of the innovative spirit at Praxis 118.

They always joke that I am the edgy “wild card” at Praxis 118, because I tend to flip traditional Southern cuisine on its head. My dishes blend my Puerto Rican-Italian roots with deep Southern charm, infusing each creation with an unexpected twist that undeniably feels like home no matter your background. Thriving under pressure, pushing boundaries and always having fun is how I am able to ensure that each dining experience is not just exciting, but undeniably cravable.
